NCAA Championship: Social Campaign Creation

When UNC's Men’s Basketball Team made it to the 2022 Final Four, the athletic department tasked me with creating social media graphics to celebrate the team’s journey to New Orleans.

Sketching

When brainstorming ideas that came to mind for New Orleans, I made a list of key concepts. Ultimately, we decided to focus on beignets. To make it uniquely UNC, I incorporated powdered sugar stencils to create outlines of iconic UNC logos. To evoke the feel of the French Quarter, I added windows inspired by the distinctive architecture I came across while researching New Orleans.

Final Illustration

This is the final illustration that was posted on social media. From the initial sketch to the finished design, I incorporated Mardi Gras beads to complement the UNC aesthetic. To further pay homage to Café Du Monde, I added a cup of coffee with foam art, enhancing the New Orleans theme.

Social Media Reception

This became one of the most successful posts in the Final Four campaign. The illustration was even featured by SkullSparks, a college athletics digital strategy company, on Twitter.
